Double chance covers two of the three outcomes of a match. This calculator rebuilds the price from the 1, X and 2 odds and tells you whether your bookmaker’s own double chance is better.
How it works
Splitting your stake across the two outcomes for an equal return gives an equivalent price: 1 ÷ (1/odds A + 1/odds B). The tool shows how much to stake on each outcome, then compares the result with the bookmaker’s double chance price if you enter it.
Worked example (made-up odds)
With 2.10 on the home win and 3.30 on the draw, the rebuilt 1X price is 1.28: for 100, stake 61.11 on the home win and 38.89 on the draw for a 128.33 return. If your bookmaker lists 1.30, that is 1.3% better.

Frequently asked questions
Does double chance pay less?
Yes. It covers two outcomes, so the price is lower than either outcome alone, in exchange for lower risk.
Why compare with the bookmaker’s price?
Depending on the operator and its margin, the listed double chance price can be better or worse than staking both outcomes yourself.
Which double chance should I pick?
1X covers a home win or draw, X2 a draw or away win, and 12 rules out the draw.
